Kelly Clarkson's 'Self' Magazine Cover Retouched To Make Her Slimmer

Kelly Clarkson may not have a problem with her weight, but that didn't stop 'Self' magazine from making the singer slimmer for their cover photo.

"Yes, of course we do post-production corrections on our images," says editor Lucy Danziger in response to the speculation.

"Did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best."

"Kelly Clarkson exudes confidence, and is a great role model for women of all sizes and stages of their life," says Danziger.

"She works out and is strong and healthy, and our picture shows her confidence and beauty." Not that they don't stand behind their decision to change the image they claim to love so much.

Ironically, inside the issue, Clarkson talks about the weight issue: "When people talk about my weight, I'm like, 'You seem to have a problem with it. I don't. I'm fine!' My happy weight changes — sometimes I eat more, sometimes I play more."

"I do it (workout) totally for my psyche," she says. "I'm much better when those endorphins are going. It's a release. And I also love food, so there's a payoff! I love healthy stuff and junk an equal amount. Whatever I'm craving, I go for it."

"For me, it's the times when I'm not paying attention that I end up losing weight. But I'm never trying to lose weight — or gain it. I'm just being!"

Kelly hasn't commented on the cover but in January she joked about being retouched for her 'All I Ever Wanted' album cover: "It's very colorful, and they have definitely photoshopped the crap out of me, but I don't care! Whoever she is, she looks great."
