Katie Couric To Return To 'Today' For One Week In Savannah Guthrie's Spot
Guthrie, who gave birth to her second child on December 9, is on maternity leave after signing a new multi-year deal. Couric will begin her stint on the show on Monday, January 2, opposite Matt Lauer, her former co-host. Couric was on the 'Today' show for 15 years before she left the show in 2006 to anchor CBS' Evening News. She made an appearance on 'Today' as a guest to promote her book 'The Best Advice I Ever Got' in 2011. Couric has been global news anchor for Yahoo News since 2014. Ten years after leaving the 'Today' show, Katie Couric is set to return for one week in 2017 to fill in for Savannah Guthrie.
