Kate Winslet On Never Dating DiCaprio: 'He Always Saw Me As One of the Boys'

In the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine, Kate Winslet (photosKate Winslet photos) opens up about Leonardo DiCaprio and reveals their relationship never went further than friendship.

"I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing," says the 38-year-old.

"It's so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did," she explains.

"He always saw me as one of the boys. I've never really been a girly-girl."

Winslet attributes her close friendship with DiCaprio to the emotional connection while making 'Titanic' and the pandemonium that came with the hit.

"We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system," she said.

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio has dropped out of the running to play Steve Jobs in the as-yet untitled biopic coming from Aaron Sorkin and to be directed by Danny Boyle.
