Johnny Depp Talks Movie Salaries, Selling Property Amid Financial Woes In Emails

Johnny Depp's emails have been made public as part of a lawsuit against his former business managers for fraud and mismanagement.

The Management Group says the emails show that Depp and his team were made aware of his deteriorating financial situation and $40 million debt long before claims.

In one email, Joel Mandel, Depp's former business manager, asked to meet with him in person "to talk about where we are financially, what we have borrowed in order to sustain ourselves, what we have had to do to obtain those borrowings, what is now necessary to pay those borrowings back, and finally, to look realistically at income and expenses to work together on how to make sure that these are back in balance."

"I am doing my very best on holiday spending, but there is only so much I can do," Depp responded, "as I need to give my kiddies and familles as good as Christmas as possible, obviously within reason."

Depp expressed his concern over the suggestion to fly commercial, saying it "would be a f--king nightmare of monumental proportions."

He went on to say that he was about to start shooting 'The Tourist', which would pay him $20 million, followed by the Pirates movies for $35 million, and Dark Shadows for $20 million.

"I hope that by the amount that will be coming in from work in the coming year and also from back end proceeds, etc., will put everything straight," he wrote.

Depp then said he was willing to sell some belongings if it would help.

"What else can i do???," he asked. "You want me to sell same art??? I will. You want me to sell something else???"

Depp filed a $25 million lawsuit against his former managers claiming they swindled him out of millions, alleging fraud and professional negligence.

TMG has said Depp was warned his spending habits would get him into trouble and labelled him as an actor who wasted millions on a lavish lifestyle against their advice.
