Johansson May Get Austrian Kidnap Girl Role

According to reports, actress Scarlett Johansson (photosScarlett Johansson photos) is the leading candidate to portray the character of the real-life Austrian kidnap girl, who was kidnapped and held hostage for eight years.

Major studios are in a fierce bidding war for the film rights to the 18-year-old's eight-year ordeal, as they are convinced that the incredible saga could be both a critical and box office success.

And studio chiefs believe Johansson would be the perfect choice. "This has been huge across the world. What happened to this girl is unbelievable and would make the most amazing movie plot," a movie insider is quoted as saying.

Natascha, who amazed the world with her story, was kidnapped on her way to school in Vienna in 1998 and held prisoner in a concrete cellar by 44-year-old Wolfgang Prikopil, who committed suicide by throwing himself under a train after her recent escape.
