MSNBC 'Morning Joe' Hosts Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski Engaged

'Morning Joe' co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are engaged.

There had been speculation of an off-screen romance since last year but that has now been confirmed by MSNBC as well as publicists for the couple.

Regular panelist Harold Ford Jr. offered his congratulations at the top of their morning show leading Mika to joke that he was applauding them for their ratings.

In an interview with Vanity Fair on Thursday evening, Brzezinski told the magazine that Scarborough proposed during a recent trip to France for her 50th birthday.

They were walking up a hill to a hotel bar when Scarborough got down on one knee and popped the question with an oval-shaped diamond ring.

Brzezinski said she replied "Absolutely."

As for how the news will affect their ratings and work-life, Scarborough and Brzezinski said they weren't concerned.

"We want to spend the rest of our lives together and that's more important than what management will think and critics will think or anybody else," Joe said.

This would be 54-year-old Scarborough's third marriage and Brzezinski's second.
