JK Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts' Franchise Grows To Five Films

JK Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' has grown to a fantastic five films.

Rowling made the announcement at a fan event for the first film, starring Eddie Redmayne, in London on Thursday.

The first film hasn't yet hit theaters but the second 'Fantastic Beasts' is already in pre-production.

Warner Bros. is certainly showing a lot of confidence in Rowling and her 'Harry Potter' fanbase with the move, especially before fans have seen the prequel set decades before the boy wizard's birth.

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures."

"Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

With the announcement, fans are speculating that the franchise plans to take viewers right until the moment of Potter's birth.
