'Jeopardy' Contestant Dies Week Before Her Episode Was To Air

'Jeopardy!' contestant Cindy Stowell has died of cancer one week before her episode was set to air.

Her boyfriend, Jason Hess, has announced the science-content developer from Austin, Texas lost her battle with Stage IV cancer.

"When Cindy Stowell taped her appearance on Jeopardy!, she had Stage IV cancer. Competing on Jeopardy! was a lifelong dream for Cindy, and we're glad she was able to do so," host Alex Trebek tells The Post.

"Sadly, Cindy died on December 5. All of us at Jeopardy! offer our condolences and best wishes to her family and friends."

She appeared on the show three weeks after qualifying after a letter to 'Jeopardy!' producer Maggie Speak, Stowell in which she explained she had only six months to live.

"Do you have any idea how long it typically takes between an in person interview, and the taping date? I ask because I just found out that I don't have too much longer to live. The doctor's best guess is about 6 months," Cindy said in her letter.

"If there is the chance that I'd be able to still tape episodes of Jeopardy! if I were selected, I’d like to do that and donate any winnings to charities involved in cancer research."

Her episode is set to air on Tuesday, December 13.
