Jennifer Hudson Joins Cast Of 'Sex And The City' Movie

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast of the 'Sex and the City' movie.

It's reported that Hudson will play the role of an assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw.

As we reported in July, the show's four lead actresses: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will reprise their roles. Chris Noth also joined the cast to reprise his role as Mr. Big. And Michael Patrick King, who executive-produced the series, will write and direct the movie based on the HBO series.

Hudson won an Oscar for her supporting role in 'Dreamgirls' and is the former 'American Idol' contestant is also working on her debut album.

So after a long 'will they' or 'won't they do a movie', the project is in full swing and filming begins next week in New York.

Update: New Line is looking at May 30, 2008 as a possible release date for the movie.
