Jeff Bridges has inked a record deal with EMI's Blue Note Records.

Bridges will record the solo album with his longtime friend and Oscar-winning producer T Bone Burnett, whom he first met on the set of 1980's Heaven's Gate.

T Bone also contributed to the soundtrack of 'Crazy Heart', which won Burnett an Oscar as well for Best Original Song and Bridges an Oscar for Best Actor.

The 61-year-old actor will contribute several of his own compositions and perform songs by Stephen Bruton, Greg Brown, Tom Waits, John Goodwin, Bo Ramsey and others.
