Jay Leno Jokes He's Doing Broadway With Letterman After Retirement

Jay Leno was asked about former rival David Letterman's retirement in a brief interview on 'Extra'.

"Oh well you know, he and I are gonna do The Sunshine Boys on Broadway, so we're very excited about that," he quipped.

Leno and Letterman have publicly said over the last year that they had buried the hatchet in their very public feud, which began after Leno got 'The Tonight Show' job over Letterman in 1992.

Asked if he would ever "fill in" for Letterman, Leno said: "There's nothing to fill in."

As for his suggestions on who should replace the 'Late Night' host next year, Leno said: "I don't know a lot of good people out there."

Letterman announced his retirement last Thursday with an announcement while taping the program.

Meanwhile, in a top ten list, new 'Tonight Show' host Jimmy Fallon joked Letterman retired because "Jay Leno needs a partner for next season's Amazing Race."
