Impostor Pretends To Be Heath Ledger's Father, Dupes Celebrities

New York police are trying to find a twisted man who is pretending to be Heath Ledger's grieving father.

The 'New York Post' reports the impostor has already duped Tom Cruise into consoling him over the phone and nearly got John Travolta to buy him a plane ticket to the United States.

The hoax began soon after Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment. By the next day, a man claiming to be Kim Ledger managed to get Cruise on the phone and had conversations with him asking for emotional support.

Fortunately, Ledger's reps found out there was a hoaxer and called various celebs incase they had been contacted, which is when Cruise and Travolta stopped taking his calls.

The impostor also had the funeral home book rooms at the ritzy Carlyle hotel. Moreover, the hotel got roped in by the man and was apparently sending send free items to the rooms when nobody was there.

Police are looking to arrest the con man on fraud and larceny charges.
