HBO Picks Up Julia Louis-Dreyfus Comedy 'Veep'

HBO has picked up comedy series 'Veep', which will take 'Seinfeld' alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus to Washington D.C.

Louis-Dreyfus will play former Senator Selina Meyer who becomes Vice President and quickly sees that the job isn't what she expected.

The comedy will also star Anna Chlumsky (Lights Out) and Tony Hale (Arrested Development).

This will be the 50-year-old's first series since the cancellation of her CBS show 'The New Adventures of Old Christine' last year.

The series is expected to premiere in early 2012.
