Giada De Laurentiis Slices Finger During Live Thanksgiving Special
De Laurentiis sliced her finger while she was cutting up a turkey alongside the network's other chefs, including Bobby Flay, Ina Garten and Alton Brown. She whispered to Ina Garten that it was bad and left the set for about 15 minutes to receive medical attention. The 43-year-old returned with stitches for the deep cut and quipped after the program that it was "an adjustment to my normal mani." Alton Brown joked on Twitter that they had located "the end of Giada's left index finger in the stuffing." Although not everyone was upset De Laurentiis had to take a breather on the live broadcast. Before her cut, many viewers were unhappy she appeared to be cutting off the other chefs. But it just could've been the nerves, as proven by her injury, from a chef not accustomed to cooking live while being surrounded with a multitude of other star chefs. Giada De Laurentiis sliced more than just vegetables and meat on Food Network's annual Thanksgiving Live special on Saturday.
