Fox Moves 'House', Slates 'Dollhouse' For Fridays In February
The network has announced that it will be moving medical drama 'House', starring Hugh Laurie, from Tuesday to 8 PM on Monday's starting January 19. While '24', starring Kiefer Sutherland, will settle into a 9 PM slot on Monday's beginning January 19, after opening its season on January 11 with a four hour two night premiere. Not the worst news, but 'Terminator' fans and those looking forward to Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse' won't be nearly as happy to hear that the dramas have been relegated to Friday's in Fox's midseason lineup. Considering Friday is where all good shows go to die, things are looking down for 'Dollhouse' even before it airs an episode. 'Bones' will move from Wednesday to 8 PM Thursday as of January 15, as crime drama 'Lie to Me' gets the much coveted spot following Wednesday's results episode of 'American Idol'. All in all, it's a rather odd schedule considering 'House' is followed by '24', which makes little sense since the show is already an established hit. As we saw earlier this year with 'Fringe', 'House' can give a huge boost to any new show. In fact, it's arguable that 'Fringe' wouldn't have received a full season pick up, if it wasn't for 'House's lead in audience. So it's a puzzling choice to relegate 'Dollhouse' to Friday's, without a solid lead-in, and behind an already hurting 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'. 'Dollhouse' premieres on February 13, and 'American Idol' returns for its eighth season on January 13. Fox is rearranging its lineup to make the most of 'American Idol's return to the schedule in January.
