'Fox & Friends' Tells Emily Blunt To 'Leave Hollywood' After Reaction To Citizenship

'Fox & Friends' co-hosts Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade and Anna Kooiman didn't appreciate Emily Blunt's jokes about her American citizenship.

This after Blunt joked about what it meant to be a citizen in two recent appearances and said she liked just being British.

"I became an American citizen recently and that night we decided to watch the Republican debate, and I thought this was a terrible mistake. What have I done?," she laughed at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In a chat with Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week, she said: "It was so strange and slightly disarming. I'm not sure I'm entirely thrilled about it. People ask me about the whole day. They were like, 'Oh, it must have been so emotional.' I was like, 'It wasn't! It was sad!' I like being British."

"The thing that's weird is I do get to keep both my British citizenship and this, but you have to renounce her. So, it's kind of typically Americanónot to be rudeóbut I had to renounce her in the room but I don't actually, technically renounce her. They're like, 'Just say it. You don't have to mean it, but just say it.'"

"Why is that typical American?" Kilmeade asked.

"You know what? Why don't you leave Hollywood, California, and let some American women take on the roles that you're getting because the Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets," added Kooiman. "She's been in movies like The Devil Wears Prada and The Edge of Tomorrow."

"You know what Emily Blunt just did? She just Dixie Chicked herself," Doocy chimed in. "She has alienated half the country, and now will think twice about going to one of her movies."

"Congratulations," he said. "You're an American citizen and you're very unhappy."
