Flu Forces Elton John To Cancel Concerts

Elton John has been forced to postpone three of his upcoming concerts because of the flu.

A statement on his official website says the 62-year-old singer has a 'serious case' of an E-coli bacterial infection and influenza.

The concerts, originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 4 and Saturday, November 7 in Seattle and November 10 in Portland, have been postponed.

Organizers say they are working to establish new dates and ticketholders are being asked to hold on to their tickets until more information is available.

The move comes after he cancelled several UK dates in October.

Elton John had been due to perform alongside Billy Joel, whose own sickness also forced the pair to cancel several joint performances in July.

Joel was told to rest after coming down with 'flu-like symptoms' and 'extreme fatigue'.

Although no dates have been announced, the concerts are likely to be rescheduled for December, according to promoters.
