'Fifty Shades of Grey' Film Postponed Until February 2015

The big screen adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' has been postponed until February 2015.

Universal Pictures has announced the film, which was originally slated to open next August, will instead now be released on Valentine's Day in 2015.

While the date may seem fitting, it is traditionally home to some of the smaller releases during the year.

Universal did not give a reason for the move but there's little doubt it was sparked by recent events which included 'Sons of Anarchy' star Charlie Hunnam abruptly dropping out of the project.

Jamie Dornan replaced him as billionaire Christian Grey. However, the studio pushed the release after production was pushed from November to December due to the delay.

He recently posed with Dakota Johnson. who plays Anastasia Steele, together as their 'Fifty Shades' characters on the cover of the latest 'Entertainment Weekly'.

In the issue, the pair comment on taking on the adaptation of the erotic novel.

"I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked by the sex in the book," says Dornan. "It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me."

While Johnson says she's been working hard to ensure she looks good for the nude scenes.

"Obviously, I want to look good naked," she admits. "I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f––ing feels awesome."
