'Fast and Furious' Star Paul Walker Dies In Car Crash

Paul Walker, one of the stars of the 'Fast and Furious' movie franchise, has died in a car crash. He was 40.

Walked, who played Brian O'Conner in franchise, died along with one other person in the accident. He was a passenger in the Porsche GT that crashed into a light pole and exploded into flames.

"When they arrived, deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene," says the department.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says speed was a factor in the one-car crash. They are working to determine how fast the car was traveling and what caused it to go out of control.

According to a post from Walker's publicist on his Facebook page, the actor was attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.

"Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace," 'Fast' star Diesel said in a statement.

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken," added the films' studio in its own statement. "Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."

Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter. Some of his other memorable roles came in 'Varsity Blues', 'Into the Blue', and 'Takers'.
