'Family Guy' Brings Brian Back From The Dead In Christmas Episode

'Family Guy' resurrected Brian on Sunday's Christmas-themed episode, weeks after the dog was killed off after being run over by a car.

The episode titled 'Christmas Guy' opened with Brian's replacement, Vinnie, still in the picture. However, with the help of his new friend, Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas.

After Stewie travels back in time to the day of the accident and saves Brian, he exclaims: "You're alive my friend! I couldn't live without you so I came back from the future to save your life."

"Thank you for saving my life. A lot of other families would have just gotten another dog and moved on," quips Brian.

Tens of thousands of fans of the animated comedy were outraged when 'Family Guy' killed off the character and even put together a petition to explain "Brian Griffin was an important part of our viewing experience."

"The writers of Family Guy didn't just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in our homes for the last 15 years," they complained. "They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America's dog!"

But they can now join Stewie in the resurrection of their favorite character.

"And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash," MacFarlane wrote on Twitter after the episode. "I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you?"

"Jesus, we'd have to be f--king high. Oh and hey, thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude."
