'Smallville's Erica Durance (photosErica Durance photos) will guest star on 'Charlie's Angels'.

Durance, who was cast as Lois Lane by executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar when they were manning the 'Smallville' ship, will star on the ABC show as Samantha Masters.

Samantha is described as a "tough-as-nails, Glock-toting CIA operative."

The 33-year-old's episode is set to air around mid October.

As for her 'Smallville' days, producers said they knew she would play Lois as soon as they saw her audition tape.

"There were a lot of wonderful actresses who came in for the role," said Kelly Souders, "but I remember sitting and watching her tape and everybody was like, 'That's her. There's no question.'"

'Charlie's Angels' will premiere on September 22 with Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh.
