Elizabeth Hurley Joins Wonder Woman Remake As 'Evil Villain'

Elizabeth Hurley (photosElizabeth Hurley photos) has been cast as Wonder Woman's nemesis in NBC's remake of 'Wonder Woman'.

"Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman," Hurley confirmed on her Twitter account on Thursday. "I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait."

The original casting call described Veronica Cale as a scientist and businesswoman with a secret plan -- and maybe even a lesbian inclination.

"Female, open ethnicity, late 30s to early 40s," it began. "Beautiful, highly-educated, highly accomplished, she runs one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country but she's afflicted with the serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy."

"Whatever she is, or will be in life, she'll never be her. And it causes her innards to rot. She loves men, but likes women. There might be an unstated chemistry between her and Wonder Woman, at least on her side."

As previously announced, Adrianne Palicki will play Wonder Woman in the show that will be written and executive-produced by David E. Kelley.
