Ed McMahon's Home In Danger Of Foreclosure

Ed McMahon has been the face of American Family Publishers' sweepstakes, openly promising wealth to numerous Americans, but now the former 'Tonight Show' sidekick could use some of that cash himself.

McMahon, who was Johnny Carson's longtime right-hand man, is in danger of losing his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills home to foreclosure. According to public records, McMahon is nearly $644,000 behind in payments on a $4.8 million mortgage loan he obtained in 2005. The six-bedroom, five-bathroom home is in an exclusive area of Beverly Hills, and has been on the market for about two years and its current asking price is $6.25 million.

The 85-year-old's spokesman, Howard Bragman, says McMahon fell behind on his mortgage payments after breaking his neck a year and a half ago, which prevented him for working. McMahon initially borrowed $4.8 million from the property, he later took out an additional $300,000 loan against the home.

It hasn't helped that Britney Spears (photosBritney Spears photos) is one of the residents in the exclusive community.

Alex Davis, who is the real estate agent trying to sell the home, says Spears' antics in the last year have certainly hurt his efforts to unload the home: "In the midst of trying to sell this property, there were a lot of distractions," Davis tells the Los Angeles Times. "When we were trying to sell the house one time, there were about 100 paparazzi there."
