Dr. Phil Asks If It's 'OK To Have Sex' With A Drunk Girl, Then Deletes Tweet

Dr. Phil was attacked on Twitter this week after asking whether it was fine to have sex with a girl if she was drunk.

"If a girl is drunk, is it OK to have sex with her? Reply yes or no to," he asked with the hashtag #teenaccused.

After his question was met with any comments from his followers, including many who suggested he look up the word "rape," television personality and psychologist deleted his post.

"Here's a hint; if you wouldn't want it done to yourself, your child, or your loved ones, IT IS NOT OKAY," replied one woman. "Also, you're a moron."

The show's producers said the message was intended "to evoke discussion leading into a very serious show topic" and we "sincerely apologize that it suggested anything other than what was intended, data gathering."

They also tried to distance Dr. Phil from the question, suggesting that he didn't post or approve the message personally even though it originated from his account.

"As you can imagine, Dr. Phil is very upset that this happened," they added.

A petition has also been started by a former college sexual assault activist who taught about rape and consent for Dr. Phil to focus on "survivors' voices and educate the public about the true definition of rape and sexual assault."
