Donald Trump Thanks Anthony Weiner For FBI's New Clinton Investigation

Donald Trump is thanking Anthony Weiner for the recent developments that have resulted in the FBI taking a second look at Hillary Clinton's emails.

"We never thought we were going to say thank you to Anthony Weiner," Trump said at a rally in Las Vegas on Sunday.

"Hillary's corruption shreds the principles on which our country was founded. Her criminal action was willful, deliberate, intentional, and purposeful."

This as the FBI obtained a warrant to begin searching newly discovered emails belonging to Huma Abedin, a top aide of Hillary Clinton and former wife of Anthony Weiner. The emails were discovered on a laptop seized during an FBI investigation into disgraced New York congressman Anthony Weiner's alleged sexting with a 15-year-old girl.

FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress announcing a review of the evidence and said the emails were "pertinent" to the bureau's investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server.

Harry Reid, the Senate Democratic leader, has accused James Comey of possibly breaking federal law by announcing the investigation so close to the election.

"Your actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another," Reid wrote in a letter to Comey.

"I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law."

The Clinton campaign called Comey's decision, absent hard evidence, "strange" and "unprecedented."

"As far as we know now, Director Comey knows nothing about the content of these emails," Virginia Senator and Clinton's running mage, Tim Kaine said on ABC's 'This Week With George Stephanopoulos'.

"Why would you release information that is so incomplete when you haven't even seen the material yourself? Eleven days before an election — why would you talk about an ongoing investigation?"

"I just have no way of understanding these actions. They're completely unprecedented. And that's why I think he owes the American public more information."
