Disney Changes 'Moana' In Italy To Avoid Confusion With Porn Star

Disney has changed the name for its animated feature 'Moana' in Italy to avoid confusion with a beloved porn star.

The children's movie will be called 'Oceania' so that those searching for the film in the country won't accidentally stumble onto pages dedicated to popular late porn star Moana Pozzi instead of kid-friendly content.

Moana Pozzi performed in about 100 porn movies, mostly in Italy, and sold about 1 million videos. She was reportedly worth more than 50 billion 1990 Italian liras, roughly equating to 26 million Euros.

Disney hasn't commented on the reason for the name change, to avoid embarrassment, and simply says it "frequently changes titles in foreign territories for a wide variety of reasons."

'Oceania' won't be the only other title for the movie either. In Spain and some neighboring countries, it's called 'Vaiana' since Moana is a registered trademark.

Disney's 'Moana', starring Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, centers on 16-year-old strong-willed daughter of the chief of the tribe who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite the Heart of Te Fiti and save her people.
