David Duchovny, Tea Leoni Confirm They've Been Separated 'For Months'

David Duchovny, who recently left rehab for sex addiction, and wife Tea Leoni have released a statement saying they've been separated for some time.

"In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months," says the statement in 'People' magazine. "The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children."

Duchovny and Leoni have two kids together, a 9-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy.

The question was brought up about why Duchovny was checking into rehab for sex addiction now, because word was he had been dealing with the problem for quite some time.

So the revelation that the two have been separated for "several months" sheds new light on it. In fact, Leoni likely left Duchovny before his public acknowledgement in August, and that was what prompted him to enter rehab.

Duchovny's lawyer said last week that he had "successfully completed his treatment," so maybe there is still hope for the two to get back together.
