David Cassidy Charged Over Hit-And-Run On Suspended License

David Cassidy has been charged with a hit-and-run for a Florida car crash he was involved in earlier in the month.

Cassidy, who starred in the seventies sitcom 'The Partridge Family', sideswiped a truck before attempting to cover his license plate as he drove away from the scene with a flat tire, according to police.

Cassidy's license had been suspended stemming from three prior DUIs and he had an expired tag.

Police tracked him down him at a local hospital, where he claimed he was at a scheduled appointment.

Cassidy has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving with expired tags and driving on a suspended license. He filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

Cassidy's lawyer says the police report is riddled with inconsistencies and claims the actor gave police his driver's license and registration before leaving the scene.

A court hearing has been scheduled for October 27.
