David Boreanaz Claims His Affair Created 'Bonding Experience' With Wife

'Bones' star David Boreanaz says his affair brought him closer to his wife.

Boreanaz admitted to cheating on his wife of more than eight years in May 2010 after Rachel Uchitel, who was also Tiger Woods' mistress, threatened to reveal details of their relationship.

"In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," the 42-year-old tells 'TV Week'.

"There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you," he explains, just like someone who starred on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel'. "But it's a bonding experience, in the long run."

Despite that the 42-year-old says he has had "fantastic moments" and "extremely rocky moments" with his wife, model and former Playboy Playmate Jaime Bergman (uncensored link).

"Do I believe in giving up?" Boreanaz says. "No, I don't. I'm a fighter. I'm a lover."

Well, we already knew that last part. Boreanaz and Bergman married in November 2001 -- nine months after they met during a Valentine's Day party.
