Dallas Woman Breaks Land Speed Record At 209 Mph

Leslie Porterfield is an accountant by day, but her real passion is riding her motorcycle.

The Dallas resident raced in the 60th Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah last week and broke a record after going 209 miles per hour.

"It was like hanging onto a tornado," she tells CBS. "I had over 200 mph wind hitting me everywhere. It gives me great honor to be the first woman in the 200 mph club."

Last year, Porterfield was airlifted when she crashed at 110 miles per hour and suffered seven broken ribs, but she kept racing and now has a record to show for it.
