Comedy Central Developing Animated Comedy About Jesus Christ

After angering Muslims with a depiction of the prophet Muhammad on 'South Park', Comedy Central is turning its attention to Jesus Christ.

The network is developing 'JC', an animated show with a modern depiction of Christ as a "regular guy" who moves to New York to "escape the enormous shadow of his powerful but apathetic father."

In the show, Jesus' father is preoccupied with playing video games while Christ, described as "the ultimate fish out of water," tries to adjust to life in a new city.

The president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights isn't happy that Comedy Central, who decided to obscure depictions of Muhammad with a black box to escape the wrath of Muslims, is working on a show about the savior.

"It's not certain what is more despicable," explains William Donohue, "the nonstop Christian bashing featured on the network, or its decision to censor all depictions of Muhammad."

The show, if its officially picked up by the network, will be produced by the team behind 'The Office' and 'American Dad'.
