CNN Broadcasts Bathroom Talk Over The Air

CNN apologized today after an open mike transmitted an anchor's bathroom conversation with another woman live over the network as it was carrying President Bush's speech in New Orleans.

It all happened as "Live From" anchor Kyra Phillips left the set for a bathroom break while CNN carried Bush's speech marking the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

However, Phillips' wireless microphone was turned on and broadcast over a minute and a half of a conversation she was having with a woman where she talked about her husband, joked and talked about her brother.

"I've got to be protective of him. He's married, three kids, and his wife is just a control freak", she said candidly without being aware that the mic was on. His wife is sure to like those comments.

"CNN experienced audio difficulties during the president's speech today in New Orleans," CNN said in a statement later in the day. "We apologize to our viewers and the president for the disruption."

Listen to the audio of the conversation here.
