Church Sign: "I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It, Then I Went to Hell"

An Ohio church is using singer Katy Perry (photosKaty Perry photos)'s hit song 'I Kissed a Girl' to make a statement.

The sign outside Havens Corners Church in Columbus, Ohio contains the lyrics from Perry's song, "I kissed a girl and I liked it," but adds, "then I went to hell."

Church pastor Rev. Dave Allison says that the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, so the sign is intended as a warning to teens, although he insists that they didn't put up the sign to draw attention to the church.

"We didn't intend to get into all this, but it's become a bigger thing," he says. "If anyone's seen the video and understands how lewd and suggestive the video is for this song, that is not something young people should go toward."

The church has since taken down the sign but Allison says it's not due to outrage or complaints, but rather because it was 'confusing' to people weren't aware of the song and didn't know what it was referring to.
