Chris Brown's Canada Concerts Cancelled After Probation Reinstated

Chris Brown's concerts in Canada have been cancelled citing "recent personal and health-related issues" after the singer's probation was reinstated.

Stephen Tobin, owner of Drop Entertainment Group, said Monday that the decision was made after consulting with Brown.

"After ongoing conversation and consultation with this year's headline act Chris Brown, and in light of the performer's recent personal and health-related issues, a decision has been made to cancel all four scheduled performances," says the promoter in a statement.

"In the absence of a festival headliner, we cannot proceed. We will start planning immediately for next year's events and the Energy/Summer Rush series will be back in 2014, bigger and better than ever."

Brown, who had been slated to perform in Toronto, Halifax, Saint John and Winnipeg, had his probation reinstated Friday after he was involved in an alleged hit-and-run accident. He also suffered a seizure earlier this month.

Chris Brown's publicist says he will instead use the time to work on his new album.

"Chris appreciates the support of his many thousands of fans north of the border," says the publicist. "He's going to use this time to focus on himself and the release of his upcoming album. Chris looks forward to performing in Canada very soon."

Of course, the 24-year-old will also use some of the time to finish the 1,000 more hours of community service he has been ordered to complete due to forged records.
