Charlie Sheen and Warner Bros. Close To $25 Million Settlement

Charlie Sheen and the studio that fired him are close to a deal to end their legal dispute.

The former 'Two and a Half Men' star filed a $100 million lawsuit for wrongful termination after Warner Bros. fired him for public tirades against the show's executive producer.

The Los Angeles Times reports that a deal that would give Sheen roughly $25 million to settle out of his contract is being finalized by the studio. In turn, Sheen will drop all of his legal claims.

Warner Bros. has been withholding Sheen's profits from syndication since the lawsuits were filed so the payout will also include an additional sum for reinstatement of that share as well.

The lump sum payment will merely be for Sheen to drop all claims for his termination and they will not affect any past or future syndication profits earned by the star from the hit show.

In fact, it's estimated that Sheen will likely receive more than $100 million from syndication over the next decade.

Appearing at Sunday's Emmy Awards as a presenter, Sheen told the 'Two and a Half Men' cast and crew that he wished them "nothing but the best for this upcoming season."

Sheen has been trying to repair his shattered image to prove to network and cable executives that he is a talent that can be relied upon.

'Two and a Half Men' returned to the air Monday with Ashton Kutcher making his first appearance as an Internet billionaire who decides to buy Charlie Harper's house after his death.
