CBS In Talks With John Stamos To Star On 'Two and a Half Men'

With 'Two and a Half Men' cancelled for the remainder of the season and no end in sight for the war of words between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre, CBS is turning to Plan B.

E! reports that CBS President and CEO Les Moonves has spoken to John Stamos about joining the comedy as a new character.

"They were at the bar talking at Jeffrey Katzenberg's Night Before benefit and Les asked John if he'd be interested in replacing Charlie," a source tells the network. "It wouldn't be to play Charlie's character but they talked more about introducing a new character."

There were rumors last week that Stamos was in talks to take over for Sheen, but, at the time, Stamos joked: "Contrary to the rumors, I am not replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. However, Martin Sheen has asked me to be his son."

Stamos would likely play Alan and Charlie's previously referenced long-lost third brother, who was given up for adoption when their mom was an unwed teenager.

Upon hearing the ongoing discussions, Sheen told 'Access Hollywood' that he wasn't a fan of the idea.

"I like John, but he don't have what I have and the show sucks if he's on it. Sorry!"
