Bruce Willis Could Play Original Joe in 'G.I. Joe 2'

Bruce Willis is in talks to play General Joe Colton, the original G.I. Joe in the film's sequel.

In the comics, after being appointed by President John F. Kennedy, Joe Colton starts the G.I. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom fighting force.

He then simply goes by the handle G.I. Joe.

Even though it will be the second film in the franchise, the feature will bring a number of new castmembers including Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, Ray Stevenson as Firefly and Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye.

Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Byung Hun-lee will return to reprise their roles.

The movie will begin filming later this month. It currently has a June 29, 2012 release date.
