Bronze Fonz Statue Unveiled In Downtown Milwaukee

A life-size statue of Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli from 'Happy Days' has been unveiled in downtown Milwaukee, along the Milwaukee River.

The bronze statue shows the Fonz wearing his trademark leather jacket and giving the thumbs-up. The $85,000 dedication was billed as being life-sized, but the bronze Fonz actually is slightly taller than the actor who made him famous.

Henry Winkler, who played the character, thanked all the sponsors for the honor and bringing an "idea on paper to reality", and joked it was actually "a taller reality."

Winkler was joined by Marion Ross (Mrs. Cunningham), Tom Bosley (Mr. Cunningham), Erin Moran (Joanie), Don Most (Ralph Malph) and Anson Williams (Potsie) for the unveiling, along with show creator, Garry Marshall.

'Happy Days' was set in Milwaukee for 11 seasons, but did not film any scenes in the city.
