Brian Austin Green To Play Metallo On 'Smallville'

Brian Austin Green will be joining the cast of 'Smallville' as DC Comics villain Metallo, reports 'TV Guide'.

That's right, the former 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' actor will now playing a comic book supervillain cyborg.

Metallo's trademark is his kryptonite power source, which he often uses as a weapon against Superman. He has enhanced strength, endurance and agility.

And his metallic body offers him a high degree of protection from physical and energy attacks. Being a cyborg, he does not need to eat, sleep or breathe. His alter-ego is 'Daily Planet' reporter John Corben.

Green is currently slated to appear in at least the first two episodes of Season 9, but we expect his stay will last a bit longer.

There's currently no word on who will be playing Zod in the upcoming season, which was teased at the end of last year.

The show's ninth, and most likely final, season is set to begin on September 25 as 'Smallville' moves to Friday nights.
