'Breaking Dawn's Birth Scene To Be As Intense As The Book

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg says that she doesn't intend on toning down Bella's birthing scene in 'Breaking Dawn' for the big screen.

"We're working on it," Rosenberg says of baby Renesmee arrival. "And we're working on it to be as intense as it is in the book."

In the novel, the birth is so difficult that Bella nearly dies. But Rosenberg and director Bill Condon say that doesn't necessarily mean the scene will be gory or bloody, as some 'Twilight' fans may expect.

"The childbirth all the scenes, I feel should be on screen," says Rosenberg. "Would we actually see Edward's teeth through the placenta? I don't think so. I don't think we need to see that."

"And I don't think it's about the amount of blood you show," she Rosenberg. "It's about the intensity of it. It's on their faces."

"It's all from Bella's point of view when you're seeing what's going. It should feel visceral. I think it's going to be pretty intense."

Rosenberg and Condon have been working on script rewrites for the two 'Breaking Dawn' movies over the last few weeks.

Asked about when they expect to finish the scripts, Rosenberg replies: "It better damn well be before the beginning of November, because that's when we start shooting."
