Bill O'Reilly Says His Scandal Actually Increased Ratings By 20 Percent

In a chat with David Letterman on last night's 'Late Show', Bill O'Reilly bragged about his handling of the scandal that had threatened to lump him in with Brian Williams and claimed it actually helped his ratings.

"We had a controversy, and we put forth what my side was, and they put forth what their side was, and folks decided. And it worked out okay for me I got even more viewers," O'Reilly said.

"You got more viewers?," asked Letterman. "When people thought you were making stuff up?"

"But they didn't think that," said O'Reilly. "because I hit it immediately, hard, and said, 'Look, this is the facts; this is what happened. 20 percent up!"

Bill O'Reilly also said what he does on his show is analysis and opinion so it shouldn't be compared with what Williams does as news anchor in the first place.
