'Big Hero 6' TV Series Coming, 'Fuller House' Renewed for Second Season

Disney has announced its making a 'Big Hero 6' TV series.

The series, based on the Marvel comic just as the film, will pick up not long after the events of the movie and follow the adventures of the superhero team led by 14-year-old robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada and Baymax.

"Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters," says Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series — full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley — and Baymax — can deliver."

The 'Big Hero 6' TV series will air on Disney XD. No date has been announced but it's expected to be sometime in 2017.

Meanwhile, 'Fuller House' has been renewed for a second season by Netflix merely a week after it debuted.

The streaming service doesn't reveal viewership numbers but it's safe to assume that the revival exceeded expectations.
