'Big Brother's Aaryn On Racist Remarks: 'I Don't Remember Saying Those Things'

The live audience for 'Big Brother' got vocal on Thursday night after Aaryn Gries entered the studio upon being evicted from the reality competition.

Since Aaryn is on the jury and will remain sequestered until the finale, host Julie Chen couldn't tell the Texas native she's been fired from her job over the remarks that targeted Asians, African Americans, and gays.

However, Chen read back Aaryn's remarks verbatim and asked for an explanation from a visibly uncomfortable Aaryn.

"I don't remember saying those things," she said to a chorus of laughs and boos. "That was not meant to be serious, and if I said those things, I feel horrible and I regret that. I don't even know what to say about that."

Aaryn blamed being from Texas for the confusion: "Being Southern, it's a stereotype. If I have said some things that have been taken completely out of context and wrong."

"I did not mean to ever come off racist... that's not me and I apologize to anyone I have offended."

"In Texas, we say things. Sometimes we joke and we don't mean it. I feel how bad it is being seen and how I've come across to people. I don't want to seem like that person."

Chen suggested Aaryn watch back footage from the season while the college student said she had grown in the house and was leaving "a different person."

The racist remarks quoted happened earlier in the season. However, while 'Big Brother' has left them out of the edit in recent weeks, things have not changed in the house.

In fact, as recently as this week, when asked if Mexicans mowed her lawn in Texas, Aaryn replied it was actually "Gorillas," presumably referring to African Americans.
