BBC Guest Talks About His Kids Crashing Interview In Comedy Of Errors
Kelly was discussing the latest developments in South Korea when his daughter opened the door behind Kelly and waltzed into view. A second child soon joined in on a baby walker, followed by his wife's Kramer-like attempts to retrieve the children. "We watched it multiple times too, and our families have watched it as well, and everybody we know seems to find it hysterical," Kelly says in an interview. "We laughed out loud," says his wife, "but still, we were worried a little bit more." He kept his composure and completed the interview but admits that he was concerned the BBC would never call him again. "That was actually our first response, a mortification that we had completely blown our relationship with you," he adds. "It was funny. If you watch the tape I was sort of struggling to keep my own laughs down. They're little kids and that's how things are." Some people speculated that Kelly didn't get up to stop the interview or lead his children out of the room because he wasn't wearing pants. "Yes, I was wearing pants." Professor Robert Kelly is talking about his live BBC interview after it went viral not because of what he was discussing but because of the comedy of errors that went on behind the scenes.
