'Batgirl' Movie In Works From 'Avengers' Director Joss Whedon
Variety reports that Whedon is "nearing a deal" for the project, which will be set in the same DC universe as 'Man of Steel', 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 'Justice League'. The movie "will also feature other characters from the world of Gotham" to further expand the universe. It will feature on the Barbara Gordon iteration of Batgirl, who is the daughter of police commissioner Jim Gordon and inspired by none other than Batman himself. Whedon would be the perfect person to lead the film given his history with female-centric and critically praised TV shows like 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Dollhouse'. Of course, news of 'Batgirl' will begin speculation as to who should play the female Dark Knight. A 'Batgirl' movie is in the works from 'The Avengers' director Joss Whedon.
