Barbara Walters Tells Letterman She 'Held Fidel Castro's Gun'

While discussing her career with David Letterman, Barbara Walters recalled interviewing Fidel Castro in 1977.

"I spent a lot of time with Fidel Castro," began Walters. We travelled through..."

"What does that mean Barbara?," Letterman joked.

"I'm just trying to... one would not do it today," she said. "We spent ten days travelling through the mountains. He was trying to show me how they were going to make it a resort."

"I held his gun, believe it or not, in my lap," she said before a hint of realization hit her.

"I would like to tell to tell everybody that this segment has not been rehearsed. Let's get back to the President so I can have a little more decorum."
