Bankrupt 50 Cent Tells Judge Cash He's Flashing on Social Media Is Fake
50 Cent filed for bankruptcy last year after losing a $5 million lawsuit. Many have believed the filing was in response to being ordered by a jury to pay a woman $5 million in an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit. The woman, Lastonia Leviston, said 50 Cent got his hands on a sex tape she made with her boyfriend, added his crude commentary and leaked it online to damage her and rap rival Rick Ross' reputation. The judge asked him about his photos with wads of cash, including one in which he actually spelled out the word "Broke" with $100 bills. 50 Cent's lawyers claimed that the money was fake, saying that posing with money, jewelry and cars was integral to his image as a hip-hop artist. They say that the bankruptcy filing was the result a $17 million verdict against him in 2014 in a legal dispute over headphone products and the most recent verdict against him by Leviston. During an independent review of 50 Cent's assets, a judge asked the rapper about his financial reporting and photos of him with piles of cash -- despite his claim that he is bankrupt.
