Austrian Woman Lands In Jail For Threatening 'CSI: Miami's David Caruso

An Austrian court has convicted a woman of threatening 'CSI: Miami's David Caruso and sentenced her to seven months in jail in a secure psychiatric unit.

The court in the city of Innsbruck handed down the sentence this week, although her lawyer maintains he will appeal the ruling.

The woman, only identified as Heidemarie S., allegedly sent more than a hundred letters to the Caruso asking for an autograph, then sent the actor a death threat when she still didn't get one.

Heidemarie, who is in her 40s, was taken into custody last month in Mexico, after she failed to show up for her trial and deported back to Austria.

A court-appointed psychiatrist testified that the woman has a "profound personality disorder."

David Caruso plays Lieutenant Horatio Caine on the popular CBS crime investigation series. He has a rather unique style that's been imitated by various comedians, including hilariously well by Jim Carrey:
