Aretha Franklin Upset, Slams Beyonce Knowles' Grammy Intro (Video)

Aretha Franklin is upset, and she wants it known.

The longtime 'Queen of Soul' has slammed Beyonce Knowles (photosBeyonce Knowles photos)' intro to Tina Turner at the Grammy Awards, in which Knowles called Turner "the queen" as a cheap shot.

"I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyonce," Franklin says in a statement. "However, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy."

In the intro before Tina Turner's performance, Knowles ran down a list of female singers, including Franklin, before saying: "There is one legend who has the essence of all of those things: the glamour, the soul, the passion, the strength, the talent. Ladies and gentlemen. Stand on your feet and give it up for the queen."

Franklin ended her statement with "love to Beyonce anyway."
