Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Agree To Handle Divorce Privately

Angelina Jolie (photosAngelina Jolie photos) and Brad Pitt have agreed to deal with their divorce privately.

The former couple's agreement, announced in a joint statement Monday evening, will keep details of their divorce confidential with the use of a private judge.

"The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues," reads the statement.

"The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."

It's the first joint comment on their divorce since Jolie filed to end their marriage in September.
